Live Performances

Skippwhore
The Live Show:

The last 10 years have seen a huge demand for Captain Tinrib to tour and perform his Live Hard Dance devastation across the globe. He plays as live as is possible for Hard Dance Music and each performance is unique. 75% is new material he’s written and 25% tried and tested, ‘Best of Tinrib’ classics.
He currently uses Ableton Live 5 on a Powerbook G4. He uses a MIDI keyboard for Live Synth Control with his left hand, along with a Kenton MIDI controller in his right, with 16 channels of different loops & 4 different synths firing thru – a bit like having 16 record decks but with controllable ‘Tinrib Sound’ live synths on demand! Different every time. All our worthy old sea dog has to do is stay together enough to be able to control it all! A true master at the helm!

The Captain Tinrib Live Show is not just another PA, a lot of time and effort goes into his live appearances. He plays fully live (you'll find no DATS in this man's tour kit! ) and each performance is unique. The implications of this are that for overseas gigs, the equipment (apart from his trusty Laptop & new Digital Mixer) has to be hired out; keyboards & speakers just don't fit into hand luggage these days!
The thing is that the final show is simply always worth it. Captain Tinrib is a skilled showman whose love of performing is blindingly obvious. If his shirts and insane antics are not enough, the Captain is always joined on stage by dancers - often recruited from the local club scene, to stomp the crowd into a frenzy.
This year's new addition to the show is the live percussion. The Captain's hooked up with an old friend who is the best in the business at percussion, Chris Edwards, who has performed throughout the world on the QE2 and has toured the UK on the dance scene with many artists and events including Guru Josh & World Dance to name a couple. This adds a huge edge to the performance, there is no way that someone buggered at the back could think we were DJs!!!
We will always try to organise special lights & visuals to give the show major impact and leave the crowd knowing they have really seen something special. On overseas tours The Captain is normally supported by a FISH! DJ which completes the package. He has headlined such events as Dance Valley in Amsterdam, Europe's largest Dance Festival, Mysteryland (ID&T), Decibel, Holland and Adventjah Festival in Brisbane, Australia, and he is always asked back for more!

Captain Live

His hectic studio production schedule has forced him to make the decision to embark on only 2 major tours per year - one in July/August and then again in November / December. In 1999 he introduced Japan and the West Coast of the USA to the Tinrib sound and 2000 saw him broaden his horizons in the USA and add Canada, Australia and New Zealand to the list of countries rocked by his musical madness. 2002 saw a return to these countries, he also managed to fit in visiting Finland & South Africa, who's party animals finally grabbed the chance of seeing & hearing dance music's most renowned live experiences.
The UK and Australia have to rank right up there as his favourite places to play - you can't beat a home crowd! In London The Captain was only playing at our own SUPERFISH! nights at The Fridge; the feeling of our club full of Fishy friends all pumped up to the max supported by all the FISH! DJs cannot be beaten. Now that he's moved out of town, is free from the record label and is doing only a couple of FISH! nights a year, Captain Tinrib has decided to perform throughout the UK as well as London.
Many performances are occuring over the next few months, so keep your eyes peeled to see if you can catch him at a town near you! If you do, do remember to bring a big net!
Having said all of this we are always open to offers and if you feel that your event is right for the Captain Tinrib Live Show then get in contact via the bookings page...
